The Green Power – Sustainable Energy lesson provides an in-depth exploration of sustainable energy with hands-on activities like building a solar-powered vehicle. While the technical content is informative, it may be challenging for students unfamiliar with terms related to renewable energy and logistics.

The card sorting activity might also need adjustments depending on the context. Adding multimedia resources like videos or images could enhance the lesson by helping students understand the terms better.

The vehicle-building activity promotes thinking. It gives students the opportunity to engage in an STEAM integrated thinking; from engineering design to building to thinking about how the energy is being converted to critically thinking about how this kind of energy is greener. However, the activity might need more time. Adapting the lesson to the teacher’s context with differentiated resources for varying learning levels is a great idea.

As a STEAM educator, I have carried out some renewable energy science projects with my learners such as making of a solar car, or a solar grinder and many more. While carrying this out, I often streamline and help them see how they can recreate without emphasizing on the key concepts such as electrification but with this resource, I’ll be utilizing the lesson plan step by step to deepen my learner’s understanding on why we need to reduce human reliance on fossil fuels but to embrace renewable energies.

I love the details and arrangements of steps and events on activity 2, which is on solar powered vehicle experiment. I will be utilizing this resource in my next science exhibition projects with my learners

This is an engaging and informative lesson that effectively introduces students to the concept of sustainable energy. The lesson clearly outlines its objectives, ensuring students understand what they will learn. The inclusion of multimedia resources, such as videos and images, makes the lesson engaging and interactive. The lesson provides relevant examples of sustainable energy in action, helping students connect theoretical concepts to practical scenarios. The lesson also covers a range of sustainable energy sources, including solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power.

In all, this is a well-structured and engaging lesson which provides a solid foundation for further learning.
