Control Room Supervisor

About this role

The Control Room is the hub for communications and decision-making in a port, where all ship movements are carefully coordinated to avoid disruption.

As Control Room Supervisor, you oversee a team of operators inputting, tracking and sharing ship data, meteorological data and a Tide Guage System.

A large part of your role is liaising with shipping agents and municipalities, which includes issuing invoices and ensuring customers are happy.

Most importantly, it is the Control Room Supervisor’s role to ensure all equipment is kept well maintained (such as control room radars) and have a plan for any emergency.

  • Accounting
  • Background in shipping
  • Strong computer knowledge

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years experience would be expected for the supervisor role.
  • A degree in Commerce, Navy experience, and/or a Diploma in computer software are also beneficial.
  • Specialized training in marine billing, Lotus notes, Customer Service, CTMS
