About this role

Mechanical Technicians are vital to ensure the smooth running of terminal operations by maintaining cranes and other important equipment. Technicians carry out planned maintenance, repairs, and project-related work as well as providing help during the delivery, inspection, and commissioning of new equipment.

Technicians working in a DP World terminal gain experience of specialist equipment such as quay cranes, terminal tractors, shuttles, and more. In this varied career, no two days are ever the same.

As Mechanical Technician, you must be safe and dependable, as faulty equipment can be fatal. Maintaining high standards is key.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical qualification, for example in the UK this would be a minimum Level 3 (NVQ, City & Guilds etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of equipment maintenance, with experience of gear boxes, engines, hydraulics, and lifting equipment
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering
  • Experience and knowledge of HSE regulations related to equipment maintenance and activities
