The Women in Logistics lesson highlights the inspiring journeys of three women breaking barriers in male-dominated fields. Through their experiences, students learn about gender equality and the importance of creating equal opportunities in the logistics industry. The videos of Gemma Ennis, Sara Alhammadi, and Al Reem Bin Ali showcase diverse roles in operations, safety, and engineering, making it an engaging resource for teaching about SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). It’s a powerful tool to inspire young learners and challenge stereotypes of jobs/roles usually dominated by men.
– Adding more videos of women across different regions of the world would be even more helpful.
Hearing directly from women who have successfully worked in the challenging environment of logistics is very inspiring. This kind of representation can encourage more girls to consider careers in supply chain management, trade, and related fields. Moreover, I would love to show these videos to my students and build in them a conviction to do whatever they want to, no matter how difficult.
Great to see women talking about their careers in trade and logistics, hopefully inspiring more girls to enter this sector.
